| Superheroes, super amounts of school spirit, and a super-themed Sadies dance combine to create a traditional AHS week, titled none other than "Super Week". As we spring into the new semester, Super Week is an activity that reminds students to enjoy their high school days while it also encourages school spirit, some of which may have lessened during the stressful finals week. To get involved with this momentous week, you must first gain information about this theme-charged event, which is helpfully listed below.
ASB Sophomore President Tina Zheng provided students with a bit of background for Super Week, saying it "is traditionally the week leading up to the Sadie Hawkins dance where students from each grade level dress accordingly to their class theme." From Feb. 6 to 10, a theme will correlate every day, giving students of all classes the opportunity to show off their creativity by dressing up to their heart's desire and competing "between the classes to see who has the most school spirit," said Tina. --Will add details on the themes after they are announced this Friday--
As a member of Prom Committee—the group responsible for each year's Sadie Hawkins and Prom—junior Jessica Hsu gives some insight into the annual dance that will end Super Week on Feb 11. "Usually called 'Sadies' for short, [it] is basically a dance in which the girls get the chance to ask the guys to accompany them. Together, they dress up according to the chosen theme," Jessica said. Although she can't reveal anything related to the theme until it is revealed on Feb. 20, she did mention that no matter what the theme is, students will definitely "bond with friends during this fun and exciting night."

The greatest part about Super Week is that it gets students involved with the school and ASB without the activity being too high-maintenance. Costumes, lunch activities, class competitions, and a dance all in one week? What more could someone need to get into the spirit?
